Support Your Local Coffee Shop !

February 20th, 2012

I went to the local coffee shop with my friend last night and must say that I had the best cup of coffee that I have ever tasted from one of those commerical coffee machines. We are fortunate enough to have a great little coffee shop nearby that provides great coffee and cakes at very reasonable prices and the shop is also open most evenings as well as in the daytime. If you have not been to your local coffee shop for a while or if you have never visited your coffee shop then why don’t you plan a time that you can visit either for a quiet break for yourself or with a few friends for company. If you do I am sure that you will find the whole experience both pleasant and enjoyable. It is also important to remember that you will be supporting a local trader by visiting your local coffee shop.

The Best Cookware Looks So Good in My Kitchen

February 8th, 2012

I’ll admit it, I like having the best cookware in my kitchen. It looks great as it hangs on the rack above my stove. Don’t get me wrong, this cookware isn’t there to look pretty. I have a great quality cookware set that gets used a lot. It’s made well and doesn’t stain. I take really good care of it though and that might be why it looks so good. Keep in mind not to use metal utensils on any cookware. You shouldn’t even own metal utensils. If you have them, get rid of them. There are plenty of great utensils made of plastic or wood that won’t scratch you stainless steel or cast iron. Nonstick would be destroyed with metal utensils. Plastic utensils will keep that nonstick looking good and functioning well. You don’t want your nonstick all scratched up, plus if the nonstick begins to flake off, you may as well throw the piece out. You don’t want to ingest that. Keep your cookware looking good and you may have the best cookware in your kitchen too.

A Wonderful Way to Start the Day

December 8th, 2011

My husband and I like to have some wholesome homemade bread for breakfast. Hence, I decided to purchase a bread machine and went online to do some research. After reading so many glowing reviews on the Panasonic automatic bread maker, I purchased it and like the other reviewers, I give it 5-stars because it the best bread machine.
The Panasonic bread maker is a sleek-looking machine that is sturdy. It works quietly and does not wobble on the counter. Once the bread is ready, the machine will beep to alert you. The finished loaf easily slides out of the non-stick pan. The texture and the taste of the loaf are excellent.
One of the best features of the machine is the 13-hour timer. I usually program it at night before I go to bed and it is something that is really easy to do. When I wake up in the morning the smell of freshly baked bread greets me when I enter my kitchen and for me that is a wonderful way o start the day.

We Love to Make Ice Cream

December 1st, 2011

It is a fantastic attachment and the ice cream is better than store bought, and I may sell my ice cream if I can find an ice cream van for sale. It’s ready in about fifteen minutes and it is very easy to assemble and clean, I really like the product. My 4 year old however truly loved getting dirty! I am giving this review a three star although I really hope now that the problem is solved it will be a five star. The very first batch of ice cream was wonderful and today I am wondering how I could have ate store bought for all these years. The KitchenAid, however, had little if any waste. Worked completely with the first batch and I have been happy ever since. For those who have a KitchenAid mixer, it is a steal. I actually do like having another use for my beloved KitchenAide mixer. I additionally bought the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and Dessert Cookbook, and I seriously think I could go the rest of my entire life without eating store-bought ice cream again!

Blending Made Easy

October 22nd, 2011

It is quite surprising how many reasons you can find to blend things, when you child first goes onto solids you are able to blend up the same food as you eat. If you have somebody not feeling too good in the house then you can blend food for them just to make it more palatable. Even when everyone is grown up and healthy they are still brilliant for making soups. What I find particularly useful is the way they are so easy to put away and pull out whenever you need them. The biggest problem I had with the stick blender was deciding which was the best stick blender to buy as there are so many to choose from. The solution to this was the shiny kitchen review site they had checked them out and picked out what they thought were the best four, and along with their choice there were plenty of customer reviews to look at.

Cooking Meat on Gas Grills

July 13th, 2011

The people who take barbecue quite seriously focus on meets as the main course of their meals. This is where barbecue magic comes to life and you better not take quality cuts of meat for granted. If you are cooking with the best products available and you definitely want to use careful techniques with precision and expertise. There are some great things you can do with gas grills when it comes to all variety of meats that you get from your local butcher. It’s important to keep an eye on food safety as well because you definitely don’t want to end up with food poisoning. This is why you should always do your best to store your meat properly before you throw it onto the grill. There are some things that will cook better if you bring them to room temperature but you never want to have them sitting on the counter for too long. This is why you need to keep track of things as closely as possible while remembering that different rules apply to different cuts of meat. With experience, you’ll be able to become familiar with all aspects whether you’re dealing with chicken, pork, or beef.

If you really want to get the most out of your barbecue meals then you should always use fresh meat that has never been frozen. Of course you can find frozen prepackaged foods that are designed for charcoal grills that are supposedly more convenient for average people to use. But going this route often leaves you with a lack of taste or dry food that can really be considered barbecue at all. It’s always a better idea to go the fresh route using great ingredients. You should also remember that’s overpowering quality cuts of meat with barbecue sauce is a big mistake as well. If you have a nice big juicy steak there really is no need to add abundant sauce or any excess liver at all. On the other hand, if you have something like chicken that works really well with specific marinades to give you added flavor. This is why you always have to balance your routine while using your best discretion to come up with quality results.

Grill Cleaning Chores

July 2nd, 2011

One reason to buy Weber Genesis E 320 is because of how much easier it is to clean this grill than most other gas or charcoal grills. Not only do I love my new Weber grill because of how great my food tastes on it, and because of how fast and easy it is to fire it up and start grilling, but also because of how easy it is to clean!

Gone are the days of shoveling out ashes from my favorite old charcoal grill. That process took me at least an hour each time I did it, and then I still had a list of things to clean inside the grill before I was ready for grilling. Not so anymore because I switched from my classic kamado charcoal grill, to a new Weber propane gas grill.

The gas grill is so simple and easy to clean up, I can’t believe I didn’t know about this before!

Here are just two simple and yummy recipes that you can make with your recently purchased Panini press.

Pizza Pockets

This is only good for a single serving. Just have adjustments if you want to make some more. Get two slices of bread, two tablespoons of pizza or spaghetti sauce, a tablespoon of mozzarella or quick melt cheese, pepperoni, red or green bell peppers, mushrooms and some onions. Just position the bread on the Panini press, then spread the sauce in the bread, arrange all of the ingredients and simply top it with another slice of bread, close the cover, wait for about 4 minutes.

Classic Tuna melt

Also make adjustments if you want to create more of this recipe. You’ll need to have 2 slices of bread, a hefty tablespoon of your personal recipe of tuna salad (having mayo and some onions is what I prefer), a thick slice of quick melt cheese, a very ripe tomato, some salt and pepper. Position the bread (the buttered side) in the Panini press, then top with all the ingredients mentioned above. Have the other piece of bread sprinkled with some salt and pepper. Place it on top of the other bread which has the filling, close the lid of the Panini press, wait for 4 – 5 minutes and you’re done.

Most of our church members are into baking so we thought that it would be one of the best ways to get everyone involved. We will be charging for registration and audience entrance and people can have the chance to vote for their favorite design by simply buying ballots. The meeting ended in high spirits and we committed to meet again at the end of the week to finalize all the details and start the activity going. From today and until the next meeting schedule, we each have our own assignments and mine is doing layout for posters and advertisements. I already have several ideas in my head and I am sure that this is something that I can really do well since I work in an advertising agency and this is truly my strength.
